About
Ventura Energy Partners (VEP) is a renewable energy developer, owner, and advisor based in Santa Barbara, California, with an additional office in Maryland. We build and own community-scale solar, agrivoltaics, battery storage, and hydroelectric projects, and we structure transactions for projects where our team can take an ownership position.
VEP is affiliated with a sister company, Ventura Energy Partners International (VEP International), which holds VEP’s investment positions outside the United States, including Bulgaria, where it has an interest in Project Jupiter, an 80 MW / 320 MWh battery storage system.
Our team brings decades of combined experience in renewable energy development, project finance, and asset management. We collaborate closely with communities, landowners, utilities, and financial institutions to bring projects from greenfield through long-term operation.

Develop · Agrivoltaics · California
A pair of agrivoltaic projects in Ventura County developed by Ventura Energy Partners with a multi-generational local farming partner, combining solar generation with active agriculture beneath and between the panels. Power is contracted under a 20-year offtake with Clean Power Alliance, with output benefiting local low-income households.
Operate · Hydroelectric · California
A 14.5 MW operating hydroelectric facility in Northern California, acquired in 2023 in joint venture with a long-established U.S. hydroelectric developer and operator. The facility is a long-life run-of-river asset producing reliable, dispatchable clean energy, and the foundation of a growing US hydroelectric platform.

VEP works on transactions where we or an affiliate can take an ownership position. Three primary modes: buy-side acquisitions of operating and near-operating renewable assets; repowering of older renewable projects with newer technology and longer offtake; and storage additions to existing solar and wind sites to capture incremental revenue from energy arbitrage and grid services. We provide diligence, valuation, modeling, capital raising, and execution support, with skin in the game.

Co-founded Ventura Energy Partners and previously founded Ventura Energy. Leads the development of and investment in solar, agrivoltaic, and energy storage assets, with experience spanning project development, financing, ownership, and operations. Has worked extensively on infrastructure solutions for disadvantaged communities, including clean water initiatives for the Navajo Nation and California’s Central Valley.

Co-founder of Ventura Energy Partners and Chair of the Board. Previously co-founded TerraVerde Energy Holdings and served as Chairman and CEO of MMA Capital Holdings, Inc. Has directed sustainable housing investments in South Africa and led International Housing Solutions, with an emphasis on green affordable housing across Africa.

Leads renewable energy projects at VEP. Previously Vice President at TerraVerde Energy Capital and M&A Manager at Trina Solar, with earlier roles at Enel X and EnerNOC focused on demand response and energy market operations.
International, through our sister company VEP International
Through our sister company Ventura Energy Partners International, VEP holds an investment position in Project Jupiter, one of the first utility-scale four-hour battery storage systems operating in Bulgaria. Commercial operation: March 2026.
